Insulation Installation Tips

๐ŸŽฏ Proper R-Value

Choose R-value based on climate zone and location. More insulation isn't always better - follow recommendations.

๐Ÿ”’ Air Sealing First

Seal air leaks before adding insulation. Air sealing can be more important than adding more insulation.

๐Ÿงค Safety Equipment

Wear protective gear: gloves, masks, long sleeves. Fiberglass particles can irritate skin and lungs.

๐Ÿ’จ Ventilation

Maintain proper ventilation in attics and crawl spaces. Don't block soffit or ridge vents with insulation.

๐Ÿ“ No Compression

Don't compress insulation - it reduces R-value significantly. Cut batts to fit properly, don't stuff them in.

๐Ÿ”Œ Electrical Safety

Turn off power when working near electrical. Use unfaced insulation around recessed lights and electrical.
